During the war on Iraq, a Navy vessel wasn't the most comfortable place to be. Off-hours below decks weren't exactly an arena of activity, particularly if you were a frustrated golfer. Jason Carver, of the USS Iwo Jima was a member of that group, but to the delight of he and his shipmates, he decided to do something about it.

"He sent us an email telling us how he read about GOLO," explained GOLO national sales manager Gregg Houlgate. "He wondered if we could send him a few games so that he and his buddies could pass the time. We were happy to do anything we could for those guys, so we went them some games."

It's not real golf on plush fairways and speedy greens, but to Carver and his shipmates it might have been even better. Shortly after receiving the games, he sent another email to the company.

"He explained that everyone loved the games we sent," said Houlgate. "He even set up a match play tournament with a 12-man field."

Jason noted the following players: EW3 Brian Barley, CTOSN Allen Gudes , AG2 Byron Jackson, CTR3 Josh Kelsey, EW3 Mike Marshall, CTO1 Pete Overwise, CTR3 Mike Phillips, CTO3 Shawn Proctor, CTR1 Geoff Reeves, CTR3 Justin Rivera, CTR1 Brian Sims, CTM3 Roger Spencer, CTR2 Nick Strader, CTRSN Ryan Sullivan, CTO2 Brian Waite, and CTO3 Justin Whitson.
